If you’re trying to track legislation, you’re going to need two things. First, you’re going to want to ensure that you know what the latest draft of the bill says. A bill can change dramatically as it is amended in committee, and a bill you supported in its original form may be a bill you oppose in its S.D. 1. One quick way you can find out how a bill was changed in subsequent drafts is by looking at its committee eports. Those committee reports (known as “HSCRs” in the House, and “SSCRs” in the Senate) will give you a summary of what the changes were made, and what the effect of the changes are.
This video will show you how to easily find the latest version of a bill (or any version at all of the bill) and its committee reports.
